COMPANY PROFILE
EnviroMine Inc. is a private Canadian company amalgamated under the Laws of Ontario by Articles of Incorporation dated December 19, 2018. The Company’s flagship Shawmere Property consists of 614 mining claims within the Shawmere Anorthosite Complex near the town of Foleyet, in Northern Ontario.. Anorthosite of the Shawmere quality is a rare compositional variety of plagioclase. It occurs in mafic igneous rock. The anorthosite has a very high Anorthite composition making it a calcium-rich endmember of the plagioclase solid solution series, the other endmember being sodium rich albite. The Shawmere anorthosite Complex was discovered by the Ontario Geological Survey in the course of Operation Chapleau in the early 1970s and has been the subject of extensive exploration and development by government geologists. High quality anorthosite, typically >An75-80, has a number of identified high value uses. Anorthosite of this quality also makes up much of the lunar highlands on the Moon.
Regional exploration and geochemical test work on anorthosite from the property indicates the material is suitable for leaching a high purity alumina, a critical metal that can be used in the ceramics and thermal management markets for EV Battery, sapphire glass and a variety of other value add applications. Anorthosite has also been demonstrated to have potential for capture of CO2 as part of processes for combined carbon capture and chemical production. The combination of potential value added market applications and proximity of the project to major transportation routes is considered very favourable for potential economic development of the project.
Exploration on the Shawmere project is permitted under the Ontario Mining Act by the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines. However, anorthosite is classified as a non-designated industrial mineral and approvals for production are permitted under the Aggregate Resources Act by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
The Company has defined a National Instrument 43-101 compliant inferred resource of approximately 18 million tonnes of alumina enriched calcium feldspar on a very small portion of the company’s property. Enviromine’s objective is to model and develop a resource with the purpose of satisfying a quarry operation with milling and mineral processing facilities in Foleyet, Ontario.
